At 7,400ft elevation, this campground is a pack in pack out. Wildlife can be viewed in the meadows on both sides of the campground. Crystal Park where you can dig for crystals, Coolidge Ghost Town where the Elkhorn Mine use to be in the early 1900’s, and the Elkhorn Hot Springs are nearby. Open year long, services available Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day-weather dependent. There are 27 sites with tables and fire rings. 9 RV pull throughs with no hookups. Vault toilets and 2 hand pump water spigots in the campground. No hiking, no fishing. $8/day fee with a 14-day maximum stay.
DIRECTIONS: From Dillon, MT, take Interstate 15 south 2.5 miles to State Rt.278 (Exit 59). At end of exit ramp, turn right onto Rt. 278 and go 25.2 miles to Polaris, MT (Forest Rt. 73) sign. Turn right onto Rt. 73 and go 13.5 miles to Forest Rt. 484. Bear right onto Rte. 484 and go 4.4 miles to campground sign. Turn right into campground.
