This is a fee cabin rental site located 70 miles south of the town of Hungry Horse on the gravel East Side Reservoir Road #38. The cabin is located at an elevation of 4,400 feet and is open from July 1 through Labor Day, early September. Group size is limited to 8 people. Silvertip Cabin is situated in a stand of trees. It is accessible by a 1-1/2 mile long Spotted Bear River Trail #83 7/1 through 8/31, and by a 4-1/2 mile long Spotted Bear River Trail #83 from Beaver Creek Campground when the Silvertip Trailhead is closed 5/15 through 6/30, and 9/1 through 11/30. The cabin gets moderate use when it is rented on Friday through Sunday nights. It is used as a base for accessing Spotted Bear River Trail #83 and Silvertip Creek Trail #89. There are no tables or metal fire rings. There is a pit toilet. There is no potable water, but water is available from Spotted Bear River º mile away and must be treated prior to consumption. Stock is allowed at the site. There are a hitchrail and corral. Weed Seed Free Feed is required on all national forest lands. There is no garbage service and visitors need to plan to Pack It In, and Pack It Out. There is a food storage order in effect on all
