General info

This 2 room historic Forest Service cabin is located 27 miles from Whitefish Montana accessed by a paved road. The cabin is heated by 4 cadet electric wall heaters, two portable oil heaters, and an electric fireplace. The kitchen comes complete with a microwave, fridge and oven, dishes, pots and pans, and utensils. The cabin sleeps 6 comfortably with 4 single beds and one futon couch that folds into a double bed.  An additional bunkhouse was renovated in 2010 and has two bunk beds and sleeps 4.  At this time, we are offering the bunkhouse at no additional fee with the rental of the cabin.  The restroom is a wood-paneled vault toilet 20 yards from the cabin. The old-style well with a handpump is also located approximately 30 yards from the cabin. Water available at Star Meadow Cabin from approximately April 1st through November 1st.  An outdoor fire pit and picnic table are on site, as well as a patio area with a table with an umbrella and chairs. 

There is ample room for family-style yard games.  In addition, the stock is allowed at the site; renters must provide their own highlines and portable feed and water buckets.  Activities such as hiking, horseback riding, biking,
