Located near the South Fork of the Flathead River and Spotted Bear Rivers on the south end of the Hungry Horse Reservoir. Hungry Horse Reservoir is15 miles south of the west entrance of Glacier National Park on the South Fork of the Flathead River. It is 34 miles long and covers 23,800 acres in the Rocky Mountains. Fishing for Whitefish, Bull Trout, and Cutthroat is popular. Activities enjoyed are scenic drives, boating, camping, hiking, wildlife viewing, picnicking, and hunting. Tours of Hungry Horse dam are available. Picturesque view of the mountain ranges. This pretty campground offers 12 campsites, each with a table and fire ring. There are some bear-proof containers. Food should be properly stored; this is Grillzy Bear Country. The beautiful Bob Marshall Wilderness is in view from the campground. Vault toilets and 4 water spigots available. The drive to the campground can be rugged. Hiking, biking, and fishing for Cutthroat Trout and Whitefish are popular. Open Seasonal May 15 through December 1. Services only provided Memorial Day weekend through October. $10/day with a maximum stay of 14 days.
