Tally Lake is 1,326-acre lake that is the deepest lake in Montana at 492 feet. There are 38 campsites in two sections. Logan Creek separates the two. One section is the Northshore and these sites have a view of Tally Lake. The other section has two loops. Some sites in Loop A overlook Logan Creek. The 8 pull throughs with no hookups are in Loop B. Vault toilets and 9 water spigots available.. There are no potable water in the Northshore sites. Hiking, boating and fishing for Kokanee Salmon, and varies trout are popular. Open seasonal May 15 through mid-September. $15/day fee with a 14-day maximum stay.
DIRECTIONS: From Whitefish, MT, take US Rt. 93 north 4 miles to Tally Lake sign (Twin Bridges Rd.). Turn left onto Twin Bridges Rd. and go 1.4 miles to Tally Lake campground sign. Turn right after sign, staying on Twin Bridges Rd., and go 1 mile to another campground sign (Farm to Market). Turn left onto Farm to Market and go 2 miles to another Tally Lake sign (Tally Lake Rd.). Turn right onto Tally Lake Rd. (dirt) and go 9 miles to campground sign. Turn right at sign into campground.
