Here is an opportunity for you to rent a rustic Forest Service Guard Station when it is not used during the winter months. It is located 3.5 miles past a downhill ski area. There are a wide range of winter recreation opportunities here.This cabin is actually the West Fork Guard Station used by Forest Service employees during the spring, summer and fall. The cabin is heated by propane, and there is a limited amount of firewood for the wood cook stove. The cabin is one room divided into a kitch/dining area and a sleeping area. It has a capacity of 6 adults with 2 sets of bunk beds and 2 folding cots. There is no electricity. There is a nearby vault toilet that is accessible to the disabled, except when snow is on the ground. There is a ramp leading into the cabin, but the interior was not designed to be accessible. There is no refrigerator. Visitors should bring sleeping bags, food, a lantern and a cooler. Open year round. Potable water.
$65/night fee.
No pets or livestock are permitted.
Bears may frequent the area; keep all food out of sight in approved containers and remove all food from area after eating. Mandatory food storage is required.
