Skidway Campground is located in the Helena National Forest at 5,500ft elevation.  There are 12 sites on 2 loops along ridges among Douglas fir and Aspen trees above the Deep Creek Canyon.  Each site has a table and fire ring. Safe food storage should be practiced because this is bear country.  There are 3 pull throughs with no hookups. Vault toilets and 1 water spigot available.  Open seasonal May 1 through October 30..$10/day fee with a maximum stay of 14 days.

DIRECTIONS: From Townsend, MT, take US Rt. 12 east 21.4 miles to campground sign.  Turn right at sign (mile marker 22) onto a gravel road and go 0.6 miles to another campground sign.  Turn right at sign into campground.
