Confederate campground has dispersed camping sites on the Canyon Ferry Reservoir. This is a 35,000-acre lake 50 miles downstream from where the Missouri, Jefferson, Gallatin, and Madison rivers join. Popular fishing for Walleye, Perch, Ling, and Rainbow Trout. There are 3 marinas. Boat rentals available. Each site has a table and fire ring. Vaults toilets but no water available. Boat launch close. Popular for boating, water skiing, swimming, and fishing. $8/night fee. Maximum stay 14 days. Open all year.
Directions: Confederate Recreation Area is located 2 miles East of Townsend on US Highway 12, at Milepost 2 go 18 miles North on Secondary Road 284.
