General info

The road into this park passes through rugged badlands. A beautiful park weaving through fossil and dinosaur land offers a prime wildlife viewing area. Elk, foxes, deer, and coyotes are a few of the animals you might see. Eighteen miles from Jordan, a pullout provides a magnificent view.

Hell Creek Campground is located on the Hell Creek Arm of Fort Peck Lake. There are 71 campsites 44 have electrical hookups.  Each site has a picnic table and fire ring. Flushable toilets, showers, and water available. Marina close by for boating and boat camping.

Fort Peck Lake is formed by the Fort Peck Dam in 1940. It is the largest lake in Montana and in one of the most remote areas of Montana.  Glasgow is the closest town.  Fort Peck Lake lies within the Charles M. Russell Wildlife Refuge.  Very few trees in this area. Boat ramp nearby.  Famous for   Walleye fishing. Each year the Governor's Cup is held here.  The lake is large and can be very windy.  Waves can be large, so larger boats are recommended.   Open all year round. Fee for stay.  The maximum length of stay of 14 days.
