26 miles southeast of Missoula on 1-90 to Beavertail Hill exit, then .25 miles south on county road.
Beavertail Hill State Park is 65 acres at 3,615 feet elevation that includes a half-mile of frontage on the Clark Fork River. Visitors enjoy fishing, floating, and camping in the shade provided by a stand of river cottonwoods. There is a self-guided nature trail through the thick cottonwood trees.
There are 24 campsites each with a picnic table and fire ring. There are also 2 tipis to rent. They are 18' in diameter and sleep up to eight people. They have indoor/outdoor carpet, fire ring, and picnic tables.
