Named after Dr. Charles Waters who studied forest tree disease in an outdoor laboratory. With views of the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness and some sites adjacent to Bass Creek, this 25 site campground is equipt with tables and fire rings along with one campsite dedicated to bicycle campers. Open year-round with services available Memorial Day through Labor Day-weather dependent. Safe food storage should be practice since this is bear country. Vault toilets and 6 water spigots available on the campground. Many hiking trails along with fishing and picnicking can be enjoyed in this beautiful area. $10/day with a maximum stay of 14 days.
DIRECTIONS: From Florence, MT, take US Rt. 93 south 3.1 miles to "Recreation Site Bass Creek" sign. Turn right after the sign (comes up quickly) onto Bass Cr Rd. and go 2 miles to campground on left.
