Fairmont, known for the Fairmont Hot Springs and Resort, is located between Anaconda and Butte just off of I-90. The hot springs fill four pools, two of them Olympic size. Into the pools are water slides which make this a great place for kids. Pools are open year-round and average temperatures in the various pools range from 86 to 105 degrees F.
The pools are open to the public with admission charged. Early records show that hot springs were first settled in the 1860s and have been operated as a resort since 1869. The springs were named Fairmont Hot Springs in 1972, and named after the owner’s similar property in British Columbia. Today, soakers have a choice of indoor and outdoor pools in a modern, upscale environment.
