Floweree

Texan Daniel Floweree migrated to Montana in 1873, bringing with him 1,500 head of cattle. After settling near the Missouri River, Floweree tended to his heard and continued to add more cattle as years passed.

To honor the area’s first settler, homesteaders dubbed their town Floweree. It later became an important stop for the Great Northern Railroad. The community’s post office, begun in 1910, operated continuously until 1974.
