Flathead Area

The Flathead Area has some of the state's best small towns. Each is surrounded by the natural beauty of mountains, lakes, valleys, and wildlife-filled forests. These quaint mountain towns include museums, shops, galleries, restaurants, breweries and distilleries. In the winter the ski slopes on Big Mountain in Whitefish are popular. Flathead Lake is one of the largest freshwater lakes in the country. This area is ideal for cherry, peaches, and apple orchards. Hiking, fishing, wildlife viewing, shopping, camping, skiing, boating, and much more are all available in the Flathead Area.
