Named for Father Ravalli of the St. Mary’s Mission in Stevensville. He was a man of many talents. Not only a revered clergyman but a physician as well. He built the first lumber and flour mills in Montana. While he was still living, the Northern Pacific Railroad paid tribute to him by giving this reservation town his name.
